RFF History

Marshall E. Redding, MD, a former Granville County resident and now a prominent cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon in Long Beach, California, established the RFF as a tribute to his late parents. His father, Mr. James Romeo Redding, served as the county Agricultural Extension Agent for twenty-eight years and his mother, Mrs. Bessie Bizzelle Redding, was a highly respected educator.

The RFF has made scholarship awards for more than thirty years and has donated over $300,000 to Granville County students that meet the RFF’s selection criteria.
